In April 2023, the Train Rail exhibition finally premiered in Stockholm. The event was highly rated by participants and visitors. “Very satisfied”, “beyond our expectations” and “we will definitely be back” are some of the comments.
Sweden has a great need for investment in railways and infrastructure. At the same time, the industry has long been calling for a new arena in which to discuss the key rail and transport issues of the future. Therefore, Train & Rail was created – a meeting place organized by Swedtrain and Stockholmsmässan in collaboration with Järnvägsentreprenörerna, NJS, Spårvagnsstäderna, Svensk Kollektivtrafik, Swerig and Tågföretagen.

One of this spring’s participating companies was Siemens Mobility – a provider of transportation solutions for over 160 years.
– As a company, we gained a lot from participating in Train & Rail. We forged closer ties with partners and customers, started new discussions with potential partners and worked on our relationships within the Swedish rail industry,” says Kristina Nyquist, CEO of Siemens Mobility in Sweden.
Siemens Mobility’s activities include trains and locomotives as well as signaling systems and electrification for railways. The company offers everything from trams and local trains to metros, commuter, regional and high-speed trains.
– We were very pleased that we had a stand at the fair. It is very likely that we will be there in 2025.
Another satisfied participant was Fredrik Lindberg, who is sales manager for train products at Awi Maskin – a company that offers equipment for construction, inspection and maintenance of railways. There were plenty of visitors and we had a steady stream of visitors to our stand, so that was positive. I would think that we will also participate in 2025, probably with a larger stand,” says Fredrik Lindberg.
The fact that Train & Rail is organized in Stockholm is a good fit for Awi Maskin.
– Our customers are often located in Stockholm and around Mälardalen and it was easy for them to get to the fair.

Britt-Inger Garsäter, CEO of BS Verkstäder, also appreciates the geographical location.
– Many of our customers have offices there. This meant that more of them could come and they had more time to be there,” she says.
BS Verkstäder was founded in 1978 and since the beginning of the 1990s the main focus has been on the lifetime extension of railway vehicles.
– We went there because the fair seemed to have a good concept with an interesting mix of exhibitors and an ambitious set-up. It turned out great!
It was very rewarding for us and we met so many people that we hardly had time to see anything else at the fair. We hope that the fair will grow next time and have more exhibitors and a larger exhibition area with better opportunities to showcase machines.
– We definitely intend to be there in 2025,” says Britt-Inger Garsäter.
Vossloh is one of the world’s leading companies for switches and track technology. Attending Train & Rail was an obvious choice.
– We had important meetings with customers and partners at all levels simultaneously, from shop floor to boardroom. Everything about Stockholmsmässan was good and easy,” says Bertrand Gryspeert, CEO of Vossloh Nordic.
– We will also participate in 2025,” he concludes.
