Focus sub-goals:

9.1 CREATE SUSTAINABLE, RESILIENT AND INCLUSIVE INFRASTRUCTURE
Develop reliable, sustainable and resilient high-quality infrastructure, including regional and cross-border infrastructure, to support economic development and people’s well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all

9.4 UPGRADE ALL INDUSTRY AND INFRASTRUCTURE FOR SUSTAINABILITY
By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and adapt industry to make them sustainable, with more efficient use of resources and more clean and environmentally friendly technologies and industrial processes. All countries are taking action according to their respective circumstances.

Train & Rail works on milestones 9.1 and 9.4 by

• We bring together the decision-makers in the rail industry who are important to be able to drive development forward at the pace needed, but also to keep a focus on sustainability.
• We invite speakers and companies specialized in infrastructure, linked to sustainability
• We have a number of sessions that focus entirely on infrastructure linked to sustainability
• We work closely with existing industry organizations to communicate the global goals we have chosen, and for them to go out in their channels to create awareness

Focus sub-goals:

11.2 PROVIDE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT SYSTEMS FOR ALL
By 2030, provide access to safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable transport systems for all. Improve road safety, in particular by expanding public transport, paying particular attention to the needs of people in vulnerable situations, women, children, persons with disabilities and older persons.

11.A PROMOTE NATIONAL AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING
Promote positive economic, social and environmental links between urban, peri-urban and rural areas by strengthening national and regional development planning.

Train & Rail addresses sub-objectives 11.2 and 11.A by

• We have a strong focus on exhibitors working in Railway Safety to meet the needs that exist and will exist
• We have program items that deal specifically with safety on the railway
• We invite politicians at national, regional and municipal level responsible for railways, infrastructure issues and urban planning to be part of the program during Train & Rail.
• We create planned meeting spaces for the different parties to meet, to facilitate cross-border cooperation
