Banprodukter Norden AB

Interview with Peter Lissbackas, CEO, and Pierre Sundström Co-owner & Head of Railway Materials, at Banprodukter Norden AB

Banprodukter Norden AB is exhibiting at Train & Rail this year. As a retailer of railway materials and machinery, they hope to strengthen their network and meet both existing and potential customers from Sweden and the rest of the Nordic region.

We talked to Peter Lissbackas, CEO, and Pierre Sundström, Partner & Head of Railway Products, at Banprodukter Norden AB, about their participation at the fair

What type of company is Banprodukter Norden AB and what do you do?

Simply put, we are a retailer of railroad materials and machinery that we import from manufacturers mainly in Europe.

We offer products, materials and tools for the maintenance and construction of track systems. Our range includes switches, heavy-duty rolling stock, stop blocks, as well as attachments and spare parts for track-laying machines.

Why have you chosen to participate in Train & Rail 2025?

It is mainly for visibility and showcasing our products. It gives us an opportunity to directly present our switches, heavy duty rolling stock and other products to potential customers, as well as to keep up to date with the latest trends, technologies and innovations in the rail sector.

Then we see the advantages of being in Stockholm, which makes the fair easy to get to through the proximity to, among other things, Arlanda, the Finnish ferries and train connections that make it easy for guests to get there.

What is your objective with Train & Rail?

We want to strengthen our network, raise the profile of our products and services, and keep up to date with the latest developments in the rail industry. Of course, we also hope to create opportunities for new business contacts and collaborations.

An important issue for us is also to find innovative and sustainable solutions and to meet future needs and environmental requirements, which we believe we will find at Train&Rail

What do you want from industry colleagues and policy makers to enable society to meet the demand, financial constraints and climate goals of future rail transport?

We are in a situation where decision-makers need to invest in the maintenance and expansion of the rail network to create a future robust and reliable infrastructure for the future, therefore railways should become more energy efficient, environmentally friendly and find more sustainable innovative technologies and sustainable solutions. Cooperation between authorities, operators and industry should also become more transparent to optimize capacity and efficiency and more investments in modern technology are needed.
